Lip Augmentation & Enhancement in Westchester County

Also serving Harrison, Valhalla, & Carmel Hamlet

At Cosmetic Surgery Associates of New York, there are many ways to enhance your lips. Some techniques provide temporary results, while others are permanent. The most common technique we use for lip augmentation at our New York practice is to use injections of fat or dermal fillers. As with all injected materials, lip enhancement must be repeated periodically to maintain results.

What’s New

The lips often can be enhanced at the same time as other facial surgery is performed, using your own tissue. While many of our patients prefer to augment the lips, some wish to have the size of their lips reduced. To reduce the lips, a small strip of the lip’s lining is surgically removed to narrow your lips to the desired proportion.

The CSANY Difference

At Cosmetic Surgery Associates of New York, we understand that our patients want a look that is natural, not one that looks contrived or “fake.” Our skilled injectors are careful to listen to your desires, and will discuss your goals with you during your consultation. With advances in cosmetic medicine, we now have several options to enhance or decrease the volume of the lips, and will find a procedure that will provide you with optimal results.

Procedure Overview

At our practice in New York, Restylane® and JUVEDÉRM® are often used to enhance and augment the lips. Most lip enhancement procedures take about 30 minutes to perform, making it a viable option for those with busy schedules. Anesthesia to the treated areas is provided by using numbing creams and sometimes injections of local anesthetics.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can BOTOX® be used to augment the lips?

BOTOX® Cosmetic cannot be used to augment the lips because it is not a dermal filler. BOTOX works by relaxing the muscles that contribute to fine lines and wrinkles. It is an effective method for removing lines around the forehead and eyes that contribute to an aging appearance.

Can I combine a lip augmentation with other procedures?

Lip enhancement can be combined with other procedures including BOTOX, a chemical peel, or facial plastic surgery for a more youthful appearance.

What can I expect after lip enhancement?

After your procedure, you may experience slight swelling and discomfort; however, this will subside. A cold compress applied to the lips for 10 minutes during every hour that you are awake can help reduce any swelling that you may have. It is suggested that after a lip enhancement procedure, patients are careful when talking or eating for the next few days. You will receive specific aftercare instructions after your lip enhancement.
