Skin Resurfacing in Westchester County

One of the main reasons your skin starts to look older is that your body generates less collagen as you age. With diminished collagen production, your skin becomes less elastic and develops wrinkles. At Cosmetic Surgery Associates of New York, our aesthetician offers two incredible skin resurfacing techniques that boost collagen production and rejuvenate the texture of your skin: Morpheus8 and Fraxel.

Skin resurfacing is used to treat:

  • Fine lines
  • Wrinkles
  • Acne Scarring
  • Stretch marks
  • Surgical scars

Morpheus8

Morpheus8 utilizes a combination of microneedling and radiofrequency (RF) technology that stimulates collagen production of the underlying layers of the dermis to deliver exceptional results for skin rejuvenation of the face and body.

Fraxel

Fraxel is a ubiquitous tool, with a unique ability to treat nearly any part of the body, including the face. Also a minimally invasive procedure, Fraxel works by heating your skin tissue, without doing any damage to the surrounding skin. The treatment will energize collagen production, which encourages your body to create healthy new skin cells.

Fraxel skin resurfacing in Westchester CountyWhile many comparable procedures treat all areas of the skin at once, Fraxel pinpoints spots and leaves other skin tissue untouched. The benefit of this is that while the treated areas start to produce collagen, the surrounding untreated tissue immediately starts playing a role in healing the affected tissue, which accelerates recovery as well as the timeline for visible results.

Most patients describe the procedure as only mildly uncomfortable — it creates a prickly feeling on your skin that goes away as soon as the procedure is complete. Your skin will be swollen and red for a day or two, but then it will start to look like a sun tan after a few days. Makeup may be applied the next day and you will be fine to resume most activities once you leave our office.

For patients who want to make the most of this amazing technology, we do recommend multiple sessions, with each treatment scheduled a couple weeks apart.
