At Cosmetic Surgery Associates of Westchester, scarless breast reduction using liposuction is a fairly simple procedure.  Once a patient has consulted with one of our physicians to determine the most desirable dimensions for the patients’ breasts, the surgeon will make a small incision (roughly one-quarter of an inch) in either the patient’s armpit or in the crease under the breast.  Through this incision, the doctor will insert a long, narrow tube called a cannula, which he will move back and forth under the skin to break up fatty tissues.  Once the excess fat has been removed, the patient’s breast size will be decreased and the surrounding skin will eventually shrink to fit his or her new contours.

After the procedure, the patient will wear a compression garment, which will help him or her feel more comfortable and will also reduce any swelling.  Many of our White Plains and Westchester-area patients who undergo scarless breast reduction with liposuction are able to return to work three days to one week after their procedure.
