A modified technique called "open" rhinoplasty can benefit our Westchester patients who require more complex correction or who are undergoing a secondary rhinoplasty procedure. Through one small incision made outside the nose and one carefully placed incision across the columella (the bridge between the nostrils), our surgeons will be able to perform a variety of nasal reshaping procedures. The placement of the incisions will enable our highly skilled rhinoplasty surgeons to pull back the tissue on the outer part of the nose and access the inner structure of the nose. They will then make additional incisions that will lead to a permanent change in the structure, size and shape of the nose. The minute scar resulting from the initial outer incision will over time become nearly invisible and the resulting aesthetic changes to your new nose will be permanent.

Sometimes, our Westchester patients who have a receding chin may benefit from chin augmentation in addition to rhinoplasty, in order to achieve better balance of facial features. Through chin augmentation, our surgeons can strengthen the appearance of the chin by increasing its projection and strengthening the jaw line. The procedure does not affect your bite or dental work. The most common approach requires insertion of an implant through a small incision underneath your chin.
