However, because the patient's own fat is used instead of implants, this procedure offers an additional benefit for patients who would like to remove fat from other areas of their bodies.
The best candidates for butt enhancement with fat grafting are women whose dress sizes are between eight and twelve. Women who wear a dress size of four or below are generally not considered eligible for the procedure because they cannot safely contribute a sufficient amount of fat.
A surgical garment is worn for approximately three weeks after the procedure, and exercise is not permitted for about that same amount of time. Patients are able to sit down comfortably the next day and can usually return to work within three to five days. The patient may notice mild swelling for the first several months.
